I was at a brainstorming event tonight to help Kiva.org, organized by James Slavet and hosted by Premal Shah, President of Kiva. If you haven't checked out Kiva.org, you should take a look:
It was started by Matthew and Jessica Flannery as a result of their positive experience with Village Enterprise Fund, a Micro Finance Institution (MFI) in Africa. Fast forward to today, Kiva.org boasts more than 50 thousand lenders and about $5 million in loans outstanding.
